Beginning with my foundation in Swedish massage and Neuromuscular Therapy adding in my continuing education in Orthopedic Massage, Myoskeletal Alignment Technique, CORE Myofascial Release, and more, then moving onward to my new path exploring Neuromuscular Reprogramming and Biochemical Kinesiology I strive to incorporate aspects of these techniques to tailor each bodywork session to the needs of each client. Each session starts by deciding on a common goal that we work toward together to affect a positive change in your body.
With over 22 years of experience in the massage field I'm beginning to get the hang of this second career.
In 1997 my journey into massage and bodywork began as did the journey of so many of my fellow students at The Georgia Institute of Therapeutic Massage (GITM): from burnout. I was over the grind of my first career of picture framing
With over 22 years of experience in the massage field I'm beginning to get the hang of this second career.
In 1997 my journey into massage and bodywork began as did the journey of so many of my fellow students at The Georgia Institute of Therapeutic Massage (GITM): from burnout. I was over the grind of my first career of picture framing. Even though I loved, and still love framing I knew that I needed to help people more directly. Through an unfortunate turn of events I found myself back in the CSRA having made a promise to attend GITM.
Prior to school starting I developed an intense pain and swelling in my right thumb that seemingly sprang from nowhere. My chiropractor diagnosed it as gout. Even with treatments to my thumb along with my regular neck adjustments the pain and swelling wouldn't subside.
That is UNTIL we began learning Neuromuscular Therapy and I discovered that I had many of the symptoms of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS). Once we began working specifically on the muscles involved in TOS along with my chiropractic adjustments the pain and swelling disappeared.
I know first hand how massage can help and that experience reconfirmed my commitment to providing the best clinically based massage therapy in the CSRA.
Massage during a pandemic can be tricky. Since COVID-19 is still present in our community I've redesigned my practice with additional safety measures in place as recommended by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA).
Before each session I will:
I, in turn will:
I take my practice seriously and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about these changes I'm making to keep me, you, and every client safe in my office.
